What working together looks like.

Once you’ve decided to move forward, here’s exactly what to expect — from your first meeting as a client through the ongoing rhythm we settle into together.

GETTING STARTED

1

2

Get organized

This is a working session, not a homework assignment. We sit down together, gather what we need, and start building a clear picture of where you stand today. I guide you through every step — so by the time we're done, your financial life is more organized than when we started.

Deep discovery

Before we touch any numbers, we make sure we're building toward the right destination. It's surprisingly easy to spend decades optimizing a financial plan that is at odds with what you really want in life. This meeting is about getting that part right first — your vision for retirement, what a great week looks like when work is optional, and what your money should ultimately be working toward.

BUILDING YOUR PLAN

Comprehensive planning, built around what matters to you

Rather than disappearing for three months and handing you a thick binder, we build your plan one area at a time in the order that makes the most sense for your situation. We prefer this approach so that you can begin receiving actionable advice sooner. We’ll meet regularly throughout the first year as we work through each topic together.

Cash flow & spending

We build a clear picture of what you spend today, and adjust from there to form an initial realistic look at your retirement.

Tax planning

The goal isn't to minimize what you owe this April. It's to minimize what you pay over the rest of your life — a very different strategy.

EVERY YEAR AFTER

Retirement planning

Answering the question you've been carrying for years: am I actually ready? We run the numbers to turn 'I think I'm okay' into genuine confidence.

Risk management

Planning for the expected is only half the job. We also make sure our work together is protected against what could happen, identifying gaps and determining what insurance makes sense for your plan.

Life changes. Your plan changes with it.

A financial plan is a starting point, not a finished product. Spending shifts, markets move, and your vision of retirement will likely change. We're here for all of it: adjusting the strategy when life does, and executing the tactics that keep your plan working every year.

Spring meeting

We check in on where you are, what's changed, and whether your plan still reflects what you want. We also handle the technical work: reviewing your tax return for planning opportunities, updating your spending targets, and other course corrections for the year ahead.

Fall meeting

By fall, we put the final touches on the year's most important decisions. We revisit your portfolio, finalize Roth conversion amounts based on where your income has actually landed, and make sure every charitable goal and year-end deadline is handled — well before the holidays take over.

Investment management

A diversified portfolio built around your life circumstances. We manage your investments so your portfolio stays in service of your plan rather than becoming a distraction from it.

Estate planning

Estate planning involves attorneys, legal documents, and a lot of legalese. We sit on your side of the table — making sure what gets drafted actually reflects what you want.

These are the core planning areas we work through with most clients. Additional areas are covered as relevant to your situation. Learn more about our services

Between meetings

You won't hear from us with generic market commentary or 'just checking in' emails. But when something matters — a tax document to expect, an open enrollment decision worth reviewing, a trading window for your company stock — you'll hear from me with something specific and actionable. And when life happens, I'm here.

Not a client yet? The first step is a short, no-pressure conversation to see if we’re a good fit.
